DU LCQB

The Laboratory of Computational and Quantitative Biology (LCQB, lcqb.upmc.fr) at Sorbonne University in Paris, France, is searching for a new director who will take up his/her position on 01/01/2025.

The LCQB, currently headed by Alessandra Carbone, is a flourishing interdisciplinary laboratory working at the interface between biology and quantitative sciences. Founded in 2009, the central mission of the LCQB is to advance research in biology by promoting a balanced interaction of theoretical and experimental approaches. Currently formed by four experimental and four theoretical teams (one more theoretical and one more experimental teams arriving soon), research topics cover a wide range of questions in quantitative, computational and synthetic biology.

To fill the director position for the period 2025-29, we are seeking for an internationally recognised scientist with a strong background in theoretical sciences and a clear commitment to promoting new synergies between experimental and theoretical/computational approaches in biology, preferably holding a permanent position in France  (e.g. CNRS or University). Candidates are expected to have research interests compatible with and complementary to the areas currently present in the LCQB. The potential director will have the possibility to join the LCQB at any moment prior to the new mandate, and to constitute his/her own research team.

For information, please contact the current director Alessandra Carbone ([email protected]) and/or the deputy directors Gilles Fischer ([email protected]) and Martin Weigt ([email protected]).
